The design is there, but it's not nearly as visible or as bright as it is in the photo. Haven't used it for tea yet, but it's dark enough that I doubt I will be able to see it through the tea unless I really look for it. Unless I'm drinking a very pale, light colored tea. But considering it's difficult to make out the image of the leaf in normal lighting without anything in the cup...
